Dear Members,
We hope that you had an enjoyable and restful summer and are looking forward to the new school year.
On behalf of the Parents’ Association, and as APEEEL1’s new President, I would like to welcome you back and to wish you and your children a successful and rewarding year.
The return to school this year has brought a few minor changes regarding Covid, but these changes show that we are slowly and gradually moving in the right direction. We can expect more changes to come in the coming weeks.
Our APEEE périscolaire team are working hard to be able to return to a full annual programme for the group and activities. There will be no change for the private music lessons. Inscriptions for the private lessons open 06/09 and for the group activities (for APEEE members) on 13/09.
The new APEEE Management Committee have now met twice – once remotely before the break and once last night in person. Following the elections earlier this summer there have been a number of significant changes. Please follow the link for more detail about your new Management Committee: https://www.apeeel1.lu/management-committee/
I am delighted to introduce the new APEEE bureau to you. We are:
President: Helen Valentine
VP admin and Finance: Greg Acha
VP Primary and Maternelle – joint role Agata Gorska & Francesca Flego
VP Secondary – Joint Role: Aleksandra Goraj & Mats Brorsson
Treasurer- Eric Albert
Secretary – Joint Role: John Coughlan & Maria Alonso
Whilst we have yet to formally set our objectives for the new academic year, top of our minds at the moment are:
– child wellbeing and protection
– quality of teaching
– development and implementation of key policies
– ensuring that the parents’ voice is heard whenever key decisions are being taken in our school
– improving our communication with parents
– ensuring the success of our périscolaire offering
– supporting you, our members, if and when you need it
If you have any feedback – positive or negative – or questions or concerns that we might be able to help with, please contact Claire office@apeeel1.lu and she will direct your email to the most appropriate member of your management committee. We will do our best to help.
And finally, my thanks to our outgoing management committee for all their hard work and commitment during an extremely challenging year. My heartfelt thanks and appreciation go to John who has been our President for the past three years, devoting countless hours to our APEEE with determination, commitment and passion through some of the most challenging events in recent times. Thank you John.
Have a smooth start to the academic year and we look forward to meeting and hearing from as many of you as possible over the coming weeks and months.
Warmest Wishes,
Helen
