Following the urgent message below sent by the school management this afternoon, we regret to inform you that the extra-curricular activities scheduled for Monday 10 February 2020 at the European School Luxembourg 1 are cancelled due to the exceptional risk to health and safety posed by the storm for which MeteoLux has issued a red alert.

parents,
Following
the red alert that Meteolux has declared for the whole country, the Ministry of
National Education, Children and Youth has decided to exempt pupils from
attending classes in public primary and secondary schools, for the day of
Monday 10 February 2020.
Our school
having for policy to comply with the recommendations of the public authorities
and consider this also deemed reasonable will exempt its pupils of the Maternel
and Primary cycles as well as its students of the Secondary cycle from the
courses scheduled for this Monday, 10.02.2020.
We would
like to reassure you that a childcare service will be set up by the school for
the pupils who will attend. It goes without saying that tomorrow’s play periods
in the playground of the Kindergarten and Primary cycles as well as school
excursions will be called off.
Please
also be informed that a separate communication will be addressed to our staff
in order to best manage the situation and to prepare ourselves adequately and
responsibly in the interest of your children’s safety.
