This Wednesday 24th March 2021 our school is running PINK DAY / KINDNESS DAY

What is it about ?

The PINK DAY is a Bullying awareness Day and a celebration of the kindness. In the current context, it is also a modest way to promote well-being at school 😊

A bit of history:

The International Day of Pink is a Canadian anti-bullying event held annually during the second week of April. The event started when students David Shepherd and Travis Price saw another student, who was wearing a pink shirt, being bullied in their high school, and deciding to show support for the student by getting everyone at their school to wear pink the following day.

The initiative inspired youth who founded The International Day of Pink, an effort to support their peers internationally with resources and ways to make their schools safer.

In 2012 over 8 million people participated.

 What to do?

As you already know, we are a Kiva school and we try to raise the awareness of this problematic of bullying among each one. In this context, we would like everyone to have a/some special, particular attention(s) – kindness that day. Any personal POSITIVE initiative (and related to the topics) will be welcome.

Everyone (students, teachers, parents, staff) is kindly invited to come to school WEARING PINK on March 24th (a/some clothes, items, a t-shirt, accessory, …) in order to show your support to this Day of Awareness.

  Inspirations :

Greeting each other, smiling, complimenting someone, holding the door for the next one, offering a personalised card, a smile, helping someone, listening carefully to a friend, showing empathy, motivating, self-congratulation, making sure I let a clean school after lunch, putting something in the recycle bin, saying “thank you”, inviting someone who was eating alone to join me, …

BE THE REASON SOMEONE FEELS GOOD 🙂
