Elections to the Management Committee
Each year, either during the second and/or third school term APEEEL1 members are asked to elect members to fill the vacant positions on the Management Committee, to serve for a 2 year term of office. Once the new Management Committee has been elected it, in turn, elects among its members the executive (Bureau) and members of various working groups.
Every member of the association is eligible to stand for election to the management committee. Current committee members are eligible to stand for re-election at the end of their mandate.
Election process
The election begins with a call for candidates. This goes to all parents of children at the European School Luxembourg 1. The call includes the number of positions on the management committee that are to be filled.
At the conclusion of the call for candidates period, if there are more candidates than positions it goes to elections. The election details are sent to all members and the candidates’ motivations are added to the website. Votes must be cast no later than 17:00 (5.00 pm) on the closing date.
There is one vote per household.
The tellers appointed at the AGM then confirm the votes received for each candidate. When the result is known, the applicants are informed and the result is announced .

Wednesday 10th May: Extended deadline if fewer candidates than vacancies
Monday 12th June: Deadline to submit votes in case of election
